BoxISP has full SMTP, POP3 & IMAP email suport.  To configure various email clients see below

All email client software requires the same information but different client software may refer to the same required information by slightly different names.

For more information see the examples below for your specific email client software.

  • Mail Server Type
    • You can use either POP3 or IMAP. Our servers automatically determines the type of access your e-mail clients is using.
      • POP3 is an older type of access and primarily for users who will only connect to their email from one source.  POP3 clients remove all e-mails from the server and store them on your local system.
      • IMAP is primarily for users who access their e-mail from multiple systems (e.q. Desktop, and iPhone).  IMAP clients leave all messages on the server so the same e-mails can be accessed later from another device.
  • Your Name
    • Can be anything your desire, usually First name & Last Name but could also be only your First name or even your title.
  • E-mail Address
    • This is the email address that you want replys sent to.  It does not have to be the same as your account but some e-mail servers may reject your e-mails if the sender and E-mail address do not match
  • Username
    • This is the name of your mailbox on the server.  It is usually only the first part of your e-mail adress, the part before the "@".  Do not include your domain name (e.q. mydomain.com) as part of your "Username"
